Device Settings

Device Settings control the behavior of an individual Android device. Most settings can normally remain at their default values.

Projection — Uses the standard screen-projection method for displaying the Android device.
Native — Uses the legacy or alternative screen mode when available; unavailable options are disabled automatically.

Device Acceleration — Selects the device-side screen encoding and transfer mode to balance performance and compatibility.
Quality — Selects the desired screen image quality.

480P / 640P / 720P / 1080P — Selects the resolution used to transfer and display the device screen. Higher resolutions provide more detail but require more processing and bandwidth.

Enable — Allows Total Control to manage the physical Android device's display brightness.
Brightness Level — Adjusts the brightness of the device screen.
Auto Dim Screen When Connected — Automatically reduces physical screen brightness while the device is connected.
Turn Off Device Brightness — Turns off the physical device display while Total Control continues to access and control the device.
Apply to All Devices — Applies the brightness operation to all connected devices when available.

Enable — Allows Total Control to control Android device volume.
Ringtone / Media / Other Volume Controls — Adjusts supported Android audio channels.
Mute — Mutes supported device audio.
Apply to All Devices — Applies the selected volume settings to all connected devices when available.

Configure — Maps function keys to Android applications or scripts.
Quick Keys — Configures the shortcut buttons displayed in the Device Window.

A configured function key can start an application or execute a script.

USB — Automatically reconnects and opens the device when the configured USB device becomes available.
WiFi — Automatically reconnects the device through the supported network connection when configured.

Advanced Settings provide compatibility and performance options that normally do not need to be changed.

Baseline / Main / High — Selects the H.264 encoding profile used for device screen transfer. Available profiles depend on device compatibility.

PC Acceleration Mode — Selects the PC graphics method used to process and display the device screen, such as DirectX or OpenGL.
Hardware Acceleration — Uses supported PC graphics hardware to improve screen decoding and rendering performance.

Changes to acceleration settings may require reconnecting the device.

Auto — Automatically determines whether Android hardware or navigation keys should be displayed.
Display — Forces hardware keys to be shown.
Hide — Hides the hardware keys.

Hotspot — Associates a screen location in an Android application with a keyboard shortcut for quick access. Multiple hotspots can be configured for an application.

Input Mode 1–4 — Provides alternative device-control methods for Android devices that do not respond correctly to the default input mode.

Opens System Settings, which apply to Total Control as a whole rather than only to the current device.
