Enterprise-Level Wireless Network Solution Test
Brief:
Enterprises build up wireless networks to cost down operation investment and dramatically improve the inventory management effectiveness. The direct information provision from active points helps enterprise carry on with effective operation, speed up employee response and save the enterprise overhead. However, the enterprise wireless network demands high flexibility, easy management, and security measures that are not less safe than wired networks. Statistics show that the combination of wireless LAN and Intranet production/OA systems increase daily access by nearly 1 hour in average, and accelerate productivity by 12%, which is very accordant with modern enterprise information development.
Highlights:
- Varied network entry approaches. Different access priorities are assigned to users in prevention of data safety during the transmission.
- Support seamless roaming across the entire network, keeping the network connectivity anytime.
- Support wireless orientation and quick positioning of invalid visitors by determining the location of accessed network devices anytime.
- Dual-route, dual band, trial mode 802.11 a/b/g support more users’ access to the network.
- Wireless integrated control across the network dramatically simplifies the management complexity
- No need to change existing network deployment, protecting previous investment
SigmationTF Wireless Test
Users can automate the WiFi network testing by SigmationTF.

In the above topology, SigmationTF acts as the master controller (MC), which executes automation test scripts and analyzes/collects test results, for the tester to control all network elements in the control network. The AP as the test object in the WiFi test, usually includes three parts - wireless access, wired Ethernet switch access and small router. The AP Configurator is used for automated control on the AP. Since SigmationTF can not directly control the AP, which supports web-based network administration only, we use a Windows PC to work as AP Controller, which is to be controlled by SigmationTF so as to realize the AP controlling. In case the AP provides CLI support, it can be controlled by SigmationTF directly. The Radius Server provides EAP authentication and CA Root service based on WPA - Enterprise, now it supports Linux FreeRadius (automated configuration permitted) and Win2003 IAS (requires manual configuration). The File Server is connected to the AP’s WAN port, simulating the Internet file downloading. The Client PC (Linux) equipped with a WiFi NIC can directly communicate with the AP through WLAN, generating all types of WiFi communication traffic.
The Monitoring PC (Linux) equipped with a WiFi NIC should be able to support monitor mode to detect and monitor the wireless signal in the WLan, and to capture/analyze the wireless packets. After the analysis, the results will be returned to SigmationTF for test report submission.
