Supported by full IP automation test framework SigmationTF, Sigma-RT provides router, switch and firewall tests which are based on Linux/Windows PCs, Unix/Windows servers and NAS/SAN storage solutions.
Testing Items for Unix/Windows Servers
1. Automated login on the server and check its operation states, resource utilization without affecting the service.
2. Check the running status of a specific service, such as the database service, middleware, service processing program and the cluster program.
3. System effectiveness diagnosis, incl. server service bottleneck checking, abnormal events collection, defect diagnosis and recovery.
4. Simulate real world service requests by Linux or Windows PC, check the service’s real running status and perform end-to-end check on the service provided by the server.
5. The server’s system configuration check and backup/recovery.
6. Check the server’s network status. 7. Check the connection status and utilization of the service storage.
Testing Items for NAS/SAN Storage Devices
1. Automated login on the storage device. Check the device running and resource utilization without affecting the device running.
2. Automated test/diagnosis program running to conduct diagnosis, testing and recovery processes on the storage device.
3. Simulate real world storage requests by a Linux PC or Unix/Windows server, and test the real state of the storage device.
4. Data backup and recovery test.
5. Check the storage device’s connection status.
Testing Items for Network Devices
1. Automated login on a router, switch or firewall, check the running status of such network devices.
2. Test network device configuration, and test on configurable backup and recovery.
3. Simulate network users by PCs. Conduct end-to-end test on network actions, such as dial-on, private line network access, VPN, QoS and simulated attack.
4. Routers, the routing table check and the switch’s MAC table check.
5. Firewall strategy check.
All above tests can be run on specified timing, periodic basis or triggered on given conditions, for users to get to know the device states timely.
